With the advent of 2011, it seems the biggest in as far as technology is concerned is tablet computers. Are tablet computers as amazing as they are fabled to be or is the grass just greener on the other side? Does it make sense buying a device the same cost as a laptop? As time passes, instead of innovation in the forward direction, it seems we are circling back to original ideas. Many tablets now sport USB HOST as a major feature of their tablets. Many sell keyboards and even mouses. Are the tablets not transforming into laptops? The ability to have a keyboard on your tablet seems to entice many many users, unaware of the fact that they are simply converting the tablet to something that already exists, a netbook. Has innovation declined to such a state that we must look at things already done in order to inspire new features in the technology world? iOS 5 is a compilation of the best features of already existing mobile operating systems. Google's virtual camera man also seems to be a copy of an already existing CISCO Web Ex feature! By adding support for multiple video types and expanding to formats such as rar, zip, pdf, or even ebook formats through applications, aren't we converting tablets to nothing but under powered laptops with a touch screen? Isn't it better if the tablet computers run already existing operating systems such as Windows, Chrome or Mac? It seems all tablets are progressing toward the same anyway! Isn't it just easier to sell laptops with detachable keyboards and the OS optimized for touch screen, thereby attaining what the tablet OS is heading towards in any case! Let me know what you think about the same!
